Success is shaped by how you navigate the turns.

My first C-level role came when I was 33, a time when I was eager for the challenge, but not really prepared for it.  I worked with a coach early on and her guidance was instrumental in finding my footing rather than crashing and burning.

Through time, varying experiences, challenges and amazing mentors, I developed a leadership style that blended strong work ethic and results orientation with empathy and optimism.  Those who worked for me would tell you I had high standards and cared for them personally.  My peers would say I was a business partner and a confidante when they most needed it.  Presidents, CEOs and Board Directors relied on me as a sounding board or critical thinking partner for high stakes decisions.

I can work through complex situations and not lose sight of humor; an attribute I find critical to leadership. And I am a strong believer in resilience and the human capability for change.

I have had a rewarding corporate career, and I am taking my own Legacy Forward advice and have found coaching and talent consulting to be a passion that re-energized my professional spirit.  This isn’t a hobby, it is a responsibility, and a privilege, to share my experience and talents in service of the leaders who shape the future.

I Coach From Simple Values

Disciplined Hope

I naturally lean towards positive psychology and at the same time, I am a realist.

I don’t subscribe to blind optimism. I look for possibility without ignoring reality. I can see the upside and still name the risks.  You believe in people and still hold them to high standards.

Navigating through complexity and challenge with optimism can inspire others to see the possibilities.

Lifelong Learner

I believe growth is a lifelong responsibility.

Human beings can evolve at any stage of life. I am naturally inquisitive and deeply reflective. “Why” is one of the most important questions in my work. It opens awareness, surfaces blind spots and drives meaningful change.

I expect of myself what I ask of others: to keep learning, to keep refining and to keep stretching toward better.

Earned Trust

Trust is the foundation of my work.

I create space for candor without consequence. Leaders can be direct, uncertain, ambitious or vulnerable and know it stays in the room.

Sustaining credibility at the C-HR level required discretion, judgment and integrity. Being trusted is not something I assume. It is something I earn and protect.

MY APPROACH

Leadership is part instinct and part intentional development.

I grew up on a working farm in the Midwest where responsibility was defined by what needed to be done, not by the clock. If something wasn’t working, you found a way to fix it and carried the lesson learned forward.  If conditions changed, you adapted. Accountability for any entrepreneur is critical, I learned not to assume someone else would solve your challenges.

Leadership is no different.

I believe strong leaders are not defined by a pursuit of perfection. They are defined by their willingness to examine themselves honestly, adjust when it matters and be accountable no matter the stakes.

That belief was shaped early in my career. With the guidance of a coach who challenged me directly, I learned to listen differently and lead with greater intention.

Growth does not come from comfort. A good coach will challenge you, give you tools to foster change and hold you accountable to growth with respect and empathy.
